Why is training so important???  

The list of individual reasons is endless, so lets “cut to the chase”, and get right down to the facts of the matter.

To teach the dog how to best keep its home

To teach the home how to best keep its dog

To make a happier, more pleasant life for you, your family, and your dog.

The above cannot be accomplished by constantly managing, and restraining the dog.

It is accomplished by teaching the dog how to live within acceptable parameters of behavior, and most important teaching the humans, how to teach, train, and maintain the conditions for a enjoyable, stable household, where the dog is an asset, rather than a source of frustration.

Most dogs that end up in shelters, and/or euthanized, end up as such, simply because they have behavior problems that become intolerable for their owners, and family to deal with. Those problems could be avoided, and solved with proper training.

It is not unusual for me to get calls from people who were advised to put their dog down, due to issues, that proper, real training would take care of.

Even many, or most aggression types of behaviors are fixed pretty easily. Very few dogs are actually genetically crazy. They just do not understand that the behavior is not acceptable.
That’s right, nobody told them not to.....at least in a way they can understand.

These are dogs, not furry little humans, and we the humans must communicate clearly, in a way the dog can understand.

Dogs pull on the leash, because they can, and think it is ok.......

Most dogs are inadvertently trained to act exactly as they are acting. As such, they can be taught to act a different way, through real training. Chances are your dog does not want to act as it does, it just does not know any other way.

My goal is to teach you, the human, how to train your dog, and give you the tools to create a real companion animal. Even if it is a problem dog right now.

I have no interest in teaching you how to manage bad behavior, instead, we teach you, how to fix the problem, or if you come to me before the problems start, how not to have the problems at all.

Management of fixable issues is not something I find acceptable, especially when the issues are easily fixed. Just fix them, and enjoy your stable, reliable, fun to be around dog.

LIfe is better with a nice dog.

I have dogs because they make me happy, and I assume everyone else has dogs because they like them also.

I do not see living with a problem dog as anything remotely fun, or rewarding. I will admit I enjoy training dogs, but in reality I actually enjoy the rewarding experiences that  comes from having a well trained, well behaved dog, and how much fun they are to do things with.
